We are now on the other side of the closing date for our house sale. We spent four months getting the house staged and ready to sell, then it sold and we began selling off the excess things we couldn't take into our trailer, lovingly named Harriet the Chariot. Then the emptying process took a whole bunch of energy, many trips to the charity shops and to the recycling/landfill. And we are still recovering from the sheer volume of things to do.
We realized that things always take much longer than anticipated (like three times longer). We still have some sorting and shedding to do as we realize our eyes were bigger than Harriet's storage capacity. We will get there, We do some every day as well as getting settled into RV living.
The trailer is fantastic. We are getting our bearings although we've made a couple of rookie mistakes but figured things out. We extended our stay from June 28th to July 1st and then again to July 6th. For the night of July 1st our campground doesn't have an available spot, so we are trying to sort that out before returning here for July 2nd-6th. We are pulling out of Victoria on July 6th and heading for the Okanagan.
But before we go we need to sort out the excess stuff, find storage for two vehicles and sell Tony's Volkwagen van and of course say goodbye to a few more people. We had an enjoyable gathering at Island View Beach last Saturday. Thank you to our friends who came to say goodbye, pray for us and bless us. We will miss you!
I'm off to make a new to-do list for tomorrow to make sure we get everything crossed off before we head off.
